Reader Problems Book Tag (+ Winter Reading Challenge)

Hey, friends! Today we have a fun little impromptu post. These problems are 100% real bookish problems. It's not even funny.

I stole this tag from Kate. xD

1. You have 20,000 books in your TBR, how in the world do you decide what to read next?
Start at A and work my way through alphabetically. (Also that sounds exactly like my TBR will be when I'm 73).

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
If I'm just bored, I'll power through. If it’s downright bad, I'll DNF it.

3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge--do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
Absolutely!! With a readathon (alone or with friends). I've done it before. xD

4. The covers of a series you love do not match. How do you cope?
Complain about it to "all and sundry, near and far--my family in particular." ;P

5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
Well, it looks like everybody loves it, so I'm 100% alone... which is rather unbelievable. I'll probably just repeat my opinion on it and if you don't care, I'll just be quiet. ;)

6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
By grabbing a Kleenex and getting ready to cry. xD I loooove to cry over a book. Movies, now, I pride myself on being stoic.

7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Yes! Even if it's a whole series.

8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books. How do you politely say no when someone asks?
"Sorry, I can't." xD

9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Power through one, and then the other, and then the other... I've discovered that if I make myself read I end up getting over the slump.

10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read. How many do you end up buying?
Probably none. I have a teeny tiny budget. xP I wait until there's a sale or a special occasion.

11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
I'll hoard them for ages until I decide to finally buckle down and read them. ;)

And I tag... whoever wants to do it. :)

While we're talking books... here's the winter reading challenge! And we have a new name. Thank you to Ryana Lynn for thinking it up!

This will probably be blurry, but if you click on the image it'll take you to a new page & the copy of the image there should be good. If it's still blurry, contact me through the contact form on the side & I'll send you a good copy.

Soooo... enjoy, let me know if you join in (and when you finish!)... and read!

Do I Have that Book? Blog Tag

Today I have another bookish tag (xD I did tell you I love tags, so you had fair warning xD). This was left as an open tag by Kassie—thank you, Kassie! ;) I’m going to try and do this only with my physical books. xD We’ll see how that works... I don’t have many physical books.

*Note: Most of these images were taken from Google or Amazon and do not belong to me.*

01. Do you have a book with tattered edges?
I’m taking this as a book whose pages are tattered for decorative purposes. I do! One of my very favourite books, “Daniel Boone: Wilderness Scout” by Stewart Edward White. This is such an amazing biography... <33

02. Do you have a book with 3+ people on the cover?
Yes! “Little Town on the Prairie” by Laura Ingalls Wilder. <3 I love those books... who else is a Little House fan?!

03. Do you have a book based on another fictional story?
Yes! Among others, “Befriending the Beast” by Amanda Tero. Based on the Beauty & the Beast stories. ;) I really like retellings...

04. Do you have a book with a title 10 letters long?
Enter our first ebook... This was hard to find, but I do! “I Don’t Dance” by Jesseca Wheaton. This book is SO much better than the title suggests. It was just soo sweet.

05. Do you have a book with a title that beings and ends with the same letter?
This was even harder to find, but yes! “Red Rover, Red Rover” by Perry Elisabeth Kirkpatrick. Oh, I love this book!! And it starts off an amazing series. I only have these in ebook for now, but I want the paperbacks ASAP!!

06. Do you have a mass market paperback book?
Thank you to Kassie for explaining what a Mass Market Paperback was, because I had no clue... But yes, I have one! “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott. Isn’t it gorgeous? <3

07. Do you have a book written by an author using a pen name?
“The Old River Road,” by Ivy Rose. She has now republished this under her real name, Hailey Rose. This book is really good and it is just GORGEOUS!

08. Do you have a book with a character’s name on it?
Do I get double points if my book has two characters’ names on it?? “Jonas & Olivia,” by Victoria Minks.
If you really want one name (we all know I’m very detail-oriented...), here’s an ebook... “Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm,” by Kate Douglas Smith Wiggins.

09. Do you have a book with two maps on it?
I could only find one with a map. “Journey to Love,” by Amanda Tero. This is a lovely story!

10. Do you have a book that was turned into a TV show?
I believe the Little House books were made into a TV show... and I have the whole series.

11. Do you have a book written by someone who is originally famous for something else?
And we return to the ebooks... I am going to say “Waverley” by Sir Walter Scott. Scott was known for his poetry and when he published “Waverley” he did so anonymonously in order that it would be taken for what it was.

12. Do you have a book with a clock on the cover?
“A Question of Loyalty” by Jesseca Wheaton. I haven't read it yet, but the two first books were amazing and I'm kind of afraid to read this one and end the series! I really need to get paperbacks of books 2 & 3...

13. Do you have a poetry book?
I have several! My favourite is “Poems Every Child Should Know,” by Mary E. Burt. It was so many lovely poems!!

14. Do you have a book with an award stamp on it?
Yes! This adorable little paperback beauty—“Sarah, Plain & Tall” by Patricia MacLachlan. ^_^

15. Do you have a book written by an author with the same initials as you?
Kate Willis has the same first initial...
And James Lucas has the same last initial. (I have not read this book so I cannot recommend it).

16. Do you have a book of short stories?
I have several! My favourite is probably “Wind Chimes” by Victoria Minks--which I have in paperback.

17. Do you have a book that is in between 500-510 pages?
*grimaces* *goes searching among her kindle books* Yes! “Arnhem 1944” by Martin Middlebrook. 501 pages. I have not read it yet, so I can't recommend it. :)

18. Do you have a book that was turned into a movie?
“Anne of Green Gables” by Lucy Maud Montgomery was! This whole series is so beautiful...

19. Do you have a graphic novel?
No, but I read this one online and I want to get a paperback copy so badly!

20. Do you have a book written by 2 or more authors?
Yes... “A Higher Call” by Adam Makos & Larry Alexander.

And I tag...
Anyone who wants to do it. ;) Enjoy!

The Voted Most Likely Blog Tag!

Well, friends.... today I have a fun tag (at least I hope you find it fun, lol!). I've enclosed random snippets from each story, just for fun :)

THE RULES:
1. Thank the lovely blogger who tagged you. You know you want to. | Thank you, Kassie!!
2. Include this lovely link in your post.
3. Use your own lovely Original Characters (OC’s); don’t use a friend’s characters or characters from your favourite fandom. They can be from any project, so long as you created them. for more fun, try to use as many different characters as possible.
4. Tag at least five lovely blogger friends to play along. | We'll see who I can come up with...

  • Most likely to be a poet.
Well... in Wallace Fitzeric I did find a hilarious typo where Wallace promises to either visit his uncle or send him a poem. 🤣 David Campbell from Betrayed is a poet... his adopted son Chris might become a poet! Brett Miller from Chords might too...

  •  Most likely to dance in the rain.
Why would you...?? Anyways. The closest I ever got to that was seeing Brett Miller & Jerry Gray from Chords have a mud fight in the rain... trying to think of a character who would actually dance... oh, Bethany Krammer from the same book would!

  • Most likely to look good in a kilt.
Wallace Fitzeric from Wallace Fitzeric!

  • Most likely to get punched in the face.
Jerry actually does... does that count? I have a feeling that’s something that could happen to Reynard Fairfeather from The Boy Soldier.... mwahaha. Now there’s an idea for another story... *rubs hands* Yeah, I love this featherbrain of a sweet heart xD
  • Most likely to drop everything and become a sheep herder.
Hm. I could see Allissa Carter doing this, perhaps?? I’m not sure... I can’t think of anyone else would would be likely to do it. Perhaps Christopher from Richard Fitzwallace...

  • Most likely to be found in a library.
Natalie Sheener from The Cost! She's such a bookworm... ;)

  • Most likely to sleep through an earthquake.
Hmmm... maybe Salem Campbell from “Betrayed”? He’s a heavy sleeper...

  • Most likely to steal food from another’s plate.
Theiko Campbell from Betrayed. He’d do it to tease. But I could see him doing it completely without realizing that it’s not done...

  • Most likely to cheat on a test.
Huh. Have I any characters who would cheat?? ... I can’t think of any... Probably some nasty villain of mine... oh, the Duke definitely would. He'd pay someone to do the dirty work...

  • Most likely to say “oops” after starting a fire.
I could see Theiko doing that...

  • Most likely to be needed in a war.
Whew, I have a slew of characters for that one. Lieutenant Harper from Incomprehensible Mercy, Lt. Roland Edwards from my Untitled Bushranger Story, A.B. Jack Gregory & Capt. Lawrence Langton from An Old-Time Christmas, Pvt. Jonathan Campbell from Betrayed, Wallace Fitzeric, Ernst & Emil from Annalise, Reynard & Callaghan from The Boy Soldier... yeah. I could probably say more but I’ll quit here. xD

  • Most likely to open an orphanage.
David Campbell from Betrayed. He’s already adopted four abused children and he has a huge heart for that.

  • Most likely to run away and join the circus.
Theiko... out of pure forgetfulness that he shouldn’t. Connor from Incomprehensible Mercy too, perhaps...

  • Most likely to survive an apocalypse.
Jerry Gray from Chords! And David Campbell from Betrayed. Probably Jennifer Holl from Chords, too. They’re all tough, survival-savvy people.

  • Most likely to fake their own death.
Hehhhh... wow. Uhm... perhaps Ernst from Annalise? I could see him doing that to throw the Gestapo off his tracks... if he really had to, he wouldn’t hesitate, no matter how dangerous.

  • Most likely to die and haunt their friends.
We’re talking haunt as in never forgotten, right?? David Campbell... Brett Miller... Jerry Gray... I have lots of characters that could fit in here ;)

And I tag...
Ryana Lynn, Mikayla, Hannah, Annalissa, & Angie -- to do in the comments or on your blog. ;) And here are your questions for easier reference...

  • Most likely to be a poet.

  • Most likely to drop everything and become a sheep herder.

Also. Several of you said you'd like to do a 3-month reading challenge. So here it is.

I think the graphic is pretty explanatory, but here are the rules quickly.
  • You have three months to read these books--from September 1st to November 30th.
  • The challenge starts at midnight and ends at midnight. (So, if you are very punctilious like me--yes, you can start reading at 12:00 AM and yes, you must stop reading at 12:00 AM. xD)
  • The books can be read in any order.
  • Books #27-#31 are bonus books. The challenge is to read books #1-#26, but you can keep right on if you like. So you can read up to #27, #28, #29... as many of them as you like/can.
  • Short stories count if they are marketed as a book. For instance, many indie books sell short stories--those count. Every individual story in a short story collection that is sold as collection does not count.
  • You can include your current read if it fits in any of these categories as long as you are at least halfway through.
  • Books of the Bible count.
  • And you are allowed to ignore one requirement of your choice and replace it with another book that you are wanting to read.
  • If you want to share this graphic on your blog or Instagram, go ahead! Just tag me as creator please (my bookstagram account on Instagram, and this blog if it's a blog).
I hope that makes sense, and I hope you enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions, in the comments below or through the Message Me form on the side. And let me know if you enjoy this and if I should keep these going! :)

Happy reading!!
